Housewares injection molding covers trays, baskets, sink covers, toilet seats, plant pots, chairs and storage boxes. Part sizes vary widely across the category, so clamping force runs from under 100 tonnes for small kitchen items up to 1,650 tonnes and beyond for monobloc chairs and large garden ware.
Chairs, large planters and storage crates need long opening stroke and generous mold space, which puts them on the MK6 Large toggle series (800 to 1,650T) or on two-platen machines when the tool gets heavier. Everyday kitchen and bathroom items sit inside the hydraulic toggle range at 88 to 668 tonnes. Clear PET storage boxes are their own case, since PET yellows when sheared too hard; the JM-PET/H uses a chrome-plated PET screw for low-shear plasticising and a high-rigidity clamp for large box tools.
Housewares margins are thin, and the difference between a profitable line and a break-even one is usually energy and scrap. Servo-hydraulic drive cuts power consumption by up to 80% against older fixed-pump machines, while stable cycles protect yield on multi-cavity tools. iChen™ Cloud shows scrap rate per machine per shift, which is often where the loss is hiding. Related applications sit under packaging and industrial and logistics.
