Continues to Innovate Leads Industry Progress
(Hong Kong, 17 December 2024) – Chen Hsong Holdings Limited (“Chen Hsong” or the “Group”; HKEX: 00057), one of the largest manufacturers of injection moulding machines in the world, has received the “Equipment and Machinery Design Certificate of Merit” for its SUPERMASTER 3600-ton Two-Platen Injection Moulding Machine with Over-Sized Shots at the “2023-24 Hong Kong Awards for Industries” organised by The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, a testament to the recognition it has from the industry for its outstanding capability and achievement in equipment and mechanical design.
The award presentation ceremony and cocktail reception was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 16 December 2024, officiated by the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Cheuk Wing-hing; the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Ms Maggie Wong; and the Director-General of Trade and Industry, Mr Aaron Liu and other guests at the event included senior government officials, business leaders, winners and guests.
The SUPERMASTER 3600-ton two-platen injection moulding machine features a pre-melt injection unit design, suitable for ultra-large weight products. Its innovative non-return valve design allows for independent and reliable plasticizing and injection systems, paired with an efficient liquid-cooled power system that can maintain pressure for long periods while producing products weighing up to 200 kg. The unique injection plunger design effectively reduces leakage and cleans up residual material, while the secondary moulding function ensures uniform density and strength of the moulded products. Incorporating the years of experience of Chen Hsong, the movements of the machine are carefully controlled to enhance the overall quality and reduce energy consumption, which significantly improves the production efficiency and economic benefits. In addition, the two-platen injection moulding machine with over-sized shots has such advantages as energy efficient and environment-friendly, swift responses and high repeatability, highly reliable and durable, and also quiet and clean. It can be used to manufacture a wide range of large and deep cavity plastic products such as automotive parts large household products and electrical appliances, and construction parts, and more.
Mr Li Xiong Liu, Deputy Director of Research and Development, thanked the organiser and the judging panel for the recognition. He said, “Chen Hsong is pleased to receive the honour, another significant endorsement of the hard work and dedication of its R&D and production teams in the machine manufacturing realm over the past few years. With the world caring increasingly about environment protection and investing more in relevant projects, and the global logistics industry booming, market demand for large plastic packaging products is going to be huge, and correspondingly large injection moulding machines are going to have greater development opportunities. The investment the Group has made will see it continue to meet customers’ individual requirements of different plastic products. Looking ahead, guided by its ‘One-stop Professional Solutions for Injection Mouldings’ strategy, Chen Hsong will launch more industry-specific models, tap new customer channels and realise technological innovation, so that it may scale new technological heights in the industry.”
Supported by the Government, HKAI was launched in 2005, combing the former Hong Kong Awards for Industry established and Hong Kong Awards for Services, established in 1989 and 1997, respectively. It aims to recognise the achievements of Hong Kong enterprises in pursing high technology and high added-value and their outstanding performance in different realms. Among the award categories, “Equipment and Machinery Design” is organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, with the objectives of encouraging enterprises to improve the design and production standards of Hong Kong-made equipment and machinery to raise their competitiveness and commending exceptional products. The judging criteria for the awards include innovation, application of technology, functionality, user-friendliness, cost-performance, safety, environmental impact, and marketability.
