Electronics injection molding covers enclosures, keyboards, connectors, switches, sockets and non-automotive lighting components. Wall thicknesses commonly fall below 1mm, tolerances are tight, and multi-cavity tools mean a small process variation multiplies across every shot in the cycle.
All-electric machines suit most of this work: independent servo axes, repeatability to ±0.01mm on the SPARK platform, no hydraulic oil near the part and low particulate generation. SPARK AE covers 100 to 360 tonnes. Where a part needs electric precision on the working axes with hydraulic capability held in reserve for core pulls or larger tools, the hybrid SPARK range extends to 1,700 tonnes and keeps most of the accuracy.
Connectors, switch bodies and terminal blocks usually need metal contacts placed before injection. Vertical machines hold inserts with gravity rather than fixtures, which reduces the handling that damages fine pins. Two-colour keycaps, translucent light guides and soft-touch buttons run on multi-material machines. For thin-wall housings where filling balance is the constraint, iChen™ AI Molder generates a starting parameter set from the part data instead of trial shots. See the electronics and 3C injection molding page.
