Appliance injection molding covers air conditioning, refrigeration, laundry, kitchen and heating components: outer panels, washing machine tubs, water tanks, fan blades, control housings, handles and vent grilles. Chen Hsong machines run appliance production for manufacturers including Arçelik, Gree, Midea, Haier and TCL.
Large flat panels and washing machine tubs need clamping force and mold support more than they need speed, which puts them on two-platen machines from 550 tonnes upward, or on MK6 Large toggle machines between 800 and 1,650 tonnes. Smaller high-gloss covers, control panels and grilles sit comfortably within the hydraulic toggle range at 88 to 668 tonnes. Two-colour buttons, badges and soft-touch handles belong on multi-material machines, where the second material bonds during molding and an assembly step disappears.
Appliance lines usually run three shifts, so power consumption compounds quickly. Servo-hydraulic drive delivers up to 80% energy saving against fixed-pump systems, and e-Drive™ electric plasticising recovers more by taking melt preparation off the hydraulic circuit.
